As I make my assessment of the various forces that make an imprint upon the Black community as they operate within the American Political Domain the most effective means of measuring their core motivations is to make note of the subjects they emphasize when they unilaterally inject their messages into the public domain.
I have a model of the universe of issues of importance to the Black community, America in general and the entire world. Regardless of if the operative is right/left, Democrat /Republican, White/Black/Hispanic/Chinese - the possession of my own model of the world that I control and update with sampling about the real world allows me to appraise the value of the messages that come my way.
In the case of Republicans Ken Blackwell and Herman Cain - this video is a bust.
While most of the comments that I just read from viewers responding to this article attack these two as "Uncle Toms" - most people making this assessment are purely doing this because these two "Republicans who are Black" are SELLING something that they don't agree with. We should not mistake this with the belief that these critics have a standard for appraisal that is credible. If a "Democrat who is Black" spouted their own brand of propaganda these same critics would applaud because "Keep Their Enemy On Trial" is more important than alignment with the real challenges within the Black community.
The reason why I reject the argument in the video (defining the key threat to the integrity of the voting process) is that Mr Blackewell and Mr Cain fail to latch their argument to the foundational point at hand.
VOTING is a METHODOLOGY by which people in a democratic society are allowed to express their voice about who will serve as representatives in government (or express their opinions on referendums or ballot initiatives).
Just as I am critical of the NAACP acting as if they are primarily interested in maximizing the number of people participating in voting while their real agenda is to run the board with progressives, these two in the video above prove to be the mirror image of what I am critical of about the NAACP and the "Black Racial Services Machine" which is packed with Black Progressive-Fundamentalists.
Long after the polls close the Black Community still has to deal with the realities on our streets and in our institutions. The sight of "Happy Black People" on election night, inauguration night (or when Obama comes to Atlanta and they wait 3 hours to see him drive by in the Presidential limo) should not be confused with general contentment with their engagement an empowerment for directly addressing the problems that plague our community. Instead this is merely evidence of a "fan based", consumer relationship to the forces of government that they believe will one day bring salvation to the Black Community.
Blackwell and Cain had the chance to rise above the tired talking points that the Republican Party is dishing out to their loyal base. They have an opportunity to prove that yes indeed - a Republican with melanin can relate to the Black community in a more intimate manner than the majority of the other party members.
They failed. This video shows that they are more interested in driving home the standard themes of the party, having failed to make the case that GOOD GOVERNANCE (a process that involves the people primarily to have clear ideals about retaining and expressing the best interests of their communities and then choosing elected officials who will be granted power to represent these interests in the halls of power ) is superior to the issue of VOTING and the partisan claims about how the process of voting is being molested by their enemies.
The Truth Is That The People Not The Political Operatives Must Develop And Retain The Conscious Model
As much as it is the case that we will hear Black people who are otherwise silent and compliant and affirming of the majority of events that take place in the name of "Blackness" attacking Cain and Blackwell because of their obvious stretch of credulity - we should understand that their reactions prove my argument above.
Cain/Blackwell have violated THEIR model of the world and thus they are heard calling them "Uncle Toms". We should understand that the violation was only RELATIVE to their own Pro-Democratic Party / Progressive-Fundamentalist "norm".
I argue that they can do their own conscious calibration by making note of how what they believe in aggregate plays upon our streets once it is promoted as the predominate policy set within the Black community. Such an appraisal gives them the opportunity to distinguish what is rational from the perspective of their own mind (and its relativity) from what is true in the real world as they achieve "Mission Accomplishment".
This, I argue, is how the notions of POPULARITY can be mitigated in exchange for a system that maintains a larger force of INSTITUTIONAL INTEGRITY by which goals that extend beyond the present whims of the people to satisfy their immediate hunger or anger can be "operationalized" for the real permanent interests of the community.
The truth is that the "Embedded Confidence Men" (of which Cain and Blackwell would be IF they were more popular) have little interest in keeping the people focused on these long range goals, which themselves are made to retain VERACITY least they become carrots used to trick the people.
The proof of one's integrity in this space is by their desire to distribute not only the VISION of these goals into the minds of the people at the periphery but also making it clear of the part that they play in achieving this vision.
The WORST CASE ABOUT AMERICA TODAY is that both sides have tricked Americans, via our CONSUMER CONSCIOUSNESS that we can VOTE OUR WAY INTO SALVATION. With this voting we are merely making a purchase, expecting the team on the field to carry the ball for us.
This is the reason why we have a fiat currency with $16 Trillion in debt. This consciousness allows us to retain a desired standard of living that is based upon a fake set of pilings that are starting to crack.
A more legitimate leader would shift the conversation from the battle with the political enemy and your need to express your VOTE over to the need for STRONG INSTITUTIONS through which our people will:
- Prepare themselves academically.........
- Express their talent on a repetitive basis as they contribute to the cause........
- Receive a salary as a result of this trade of equal goods......
- Apply these financial resources and knowledge to his own family and community.......
- Thereby allowing the people who they directly interact to strengthen......
- The "Rinse and Repeat" of the above, as it spreads virally.............................
IS THE SOURCE OF THE STRENGTH OF THIS NATION........
NOT two "Dung Producing Party Animals" who have set us on a corse of DESTRUCTION.

If Americans do not reign in the power of these FRAUDULENT TWO PARTIES and the "conscious minds" of Americans that they have sucked into their vortex this nation will be destroyed. Neither your "Social Justice" or your "Military Industrial Complex" will be obtained if the state fails.
These parties operate in the POLITICAL REALM - of GOVERNMENT.
Our nation is failing in the GOVERNANCE realm - where the PEOPLE, their development and their application of adult responsibility are the key resource.
