I had a print out of a newspaper column regarding the redistricting of Chicago's political wards. It made references to 'Black Wards', 'Hispanic Wards' and 'White Wards'.
On the one side the political operatives seeking to retain the maximum number of "their wards" had submitted plans that seemed to ignore the new reality that the recent US Census had documented. This tactic is little different than what White Republicans do except in Chicago it was done by Black Democrats against Hispanic Democrats and thus they were not called 'racists' and the NAACP did not summon the US Department of Justice to come in and look at the proposal that was floated by their friends of the Black caucus of Aldermen in Chicago. Despite the fact that more than 180,000 Black people exited the "Mission Accomplished" city of Chicago to find greater opportunity elsewhere - the Black Democrats empaneled in the council of aldermen desire to retain their power in this city that uses RACE as the primary attribute for representation - since this is a one party town and thus the partisan enemy is not around as a key point of fissure.
On the other side "the Hispanics", seeing to have the new boundary lines reflect their growth in population. They respectfully laughed at the proposal that "The Blacks" had given to them, understanding that they, "The Hispanics" had the upper hand per what the US Census had indicated.
I find that the best way to appraise the true nature of "The Progressive" is to step back and watch them transact as they do, without any external ideological force deforming their waves of radiation. These externalities are forces that unify them. Absent these forces - they act pretty much like the non-Progressives that they call "bigots" and "racists".
"The City Of Chicago" - Pat Buchanan's World
"The Blacks", "The Hispanics" and "The Whites" (and "The Asians" too) form the constructs that were discussed in the book penned by (racist) opinion writer Pat Buchanan. The one that upset the Progressive operative group "The Color Of Change".
The racial factionalization in Chicago politics does not denote a racial shooting war or chaos as some assume that the future will bring upon us. Instead is shows a world where "White Power By Any Means Necessary" is mitigated by both a body of law and a prevailing norm in our common culture that no longer accepts such egregious actions.
The "Post Racial America" - the concept that has been scorned by the left "After-Obama" as any new report of RACISM(!!!!) is reported upon (ie: "The KKK Snowman In Idaho" which melted long before a real Black person was able to set their actual eyes upon it but for the Twitter feed from Media Matters upon which they saw it) is not to be.
No longer, however, are fire breathing, Neanderthal conservatives the antagonists that poke at our racial divisions, Chicago shows that even when Progressives seek to maximize the "Social Justice" of their particular constituency so that they are represented in a legislative body so that their "fair share" of the common resources can be allocated - RACE is the final arbiter once IDEOLOGY and PARTY are a non-factor due to their common affiliation in the "Mission Accomplished Zone".
The X-Y-Z axis that I crafted years ago stands as a representative model of the politics seen in Chicago.
Among these combatants The X axis of "Party" is irrelevant as they are all Democrats.
The Y axis of "Ideology" is irrelevant as they all are advancing various gradations of "Progressive Public Policy".
It is the "Z axis" of RACE that is the key disqualifier now that the X and Y are at their vertex. (Thus the state of "Mission Accomplishment" rendered)
If A Tree That Bears "Strange Fruit" Falls In A Mission Accomplished Zone Will The Press Hear The Sound Of RACISM?
I have stated before - the Progressive lives upon INDICTMENTS.
Back in the 2008 Presidential Election season we heard various media operatives asking the general question
At that time I noted that none of these operatives - either before the vote nor afterward bothered to assume that the Black voter was EQUAL and thus challenge it on its clear racial alignment. It was "the White vote" that was assumed to be the beacon of American's state of transparency and reformation. Further when MSNBC's Chris Matthews considers today's polling among White folks regarding Obama (at less than 40%) and smells racism.....................he apparently has a loss of olfactory competencies as he fails to discuss the Black 85%+ support for Obama during the time of our community crisis.
Simply put - "White Supremacy" is a conjoined twin to "Black Inferiority".
Sadly many Black people don't bother to enforce repudiation against "Black Inferiority" BECAUSE it is typically done in the context of a TRANSACTION. They don't mind hunching their backs because their consumer mentality has them looking forward to the tasty treats that will be redistributed to them after the transaction has been completed.
I am carefully watching the events of Chicago. I am waiting to hear a national voice of reason demanding of their Progressive soul brothers to destroy the existing RACE BASED ward map system in Chicago and instead draw lines that will affirm the common "Chicagoan-ness".
Why have 50 wards and associated spoils system when 19 or 11 would lead to more gradation. (Whatever color the mixture of brown, tan and white and yellow produces).
Which media organ will challenge the power hungry Progressive-Fundamnetalists to put aside their RACIST horse trading in order to bring the racial factions of Chicago together?
