I Hope That The Present Left On My Morning Paper Is Not A Foreshaddowing Of How My Day Will Be Today

Some messages don't get any clearer than this one left on my driveway this morning.

This morning I had to come downstairs to figure out what my (Jamaican) wife was fussing at my son about.

15 minutes until the school bus was due to come and he was still in his pajamas, watching television.  This was one of those "I'm glad that's not MY momma" moments for me, though I remember those occasions quite well.

I had to provide backup for her with belt in hand as he put on his clothes and brushed his teeth and hair.

As the kids exited the house to catch the school bus I followed them down the drive way to go retrieve my "USA Today".

"Good morning to you too, dirt bag" was the message that some critter in the neighborhood left on my paper today as he cut across my property.

Each morning I see paw prints through the dew on the grass in the front of my house.   I have cats, rabbits, squirrels, foxes and deer that run across my lawn throughout the day and night.  I think that this was a present left by the cat that hangs out on my property hunting the rabbits and the squirrels.

He made me laugh this morning.
