The Value Of The "Progressives Who Are Black" To The Progressive Movement - Black Folks Aren't Called "Racists" For Their Antics In The Battle

If you read the new line up of "HuffPo" knock-off sites in Black face a pattern quickly emerges.   They all make frequent references to:

  • Huffington Post
  • Media Matters
  • The Nation Magazine
  • Other Left-wing sources
to justify their point and/or to provide source evidence against the conservative that is in their rifle scope.

How many times, for example do you see "NewsBusters" - the right-wing compliment of "Media Matters" as the source of material - perish the thought - against a Democrat?

As ridiculous as the last question is - the point is that we are not looking at a "Black Political Movement" as represented in these sources.  We have a "Progressive Movement" who's INTENTIONS are to help the Black community by advancing the progressive political position in America.

We only need to look closely at the political districts with high percentages of our people to see that while this strategy does indeed promote progressives into power, it is no so successful in translating this intermediate step into he promised goods for the benefit of the Black community.

The Kind Of "Profiling" That Progressives Who Are Black Like

If the world were fair we'd hear that Media Matter's goal of "holding the media accountable" is akin to Fox New's pledge of being "fair and balanced".  Unfortunately when it comes to the prevailing ideological orientation of the Black community Media Matters is providing the eyes and ears for the Black community so it doesn't have to watch Fox News, thus causing a decline in the 20% of MSNBC's ratings that Black people represent.

The founding of Media Matters reads like an org chart on Glenn Beck's chalk board.

(From Wikipedia's entry:) Media Matters initially received "more than $2 million in donations from wealthy liberals" with ties to the Democratic party (including Peter Lewis of Progressive Insurance, Steve Bing, Marcy Carsey, Susie Tompkins Buell, Leo Hindrey, Gail Furman, and James Hormel) and "was developed with help from the newly formed Center for American Progress". It also has received significant funding from Democracy Alliance, MoveOn.org, and the New Democrat Network.[18][19] Media Matters hired numerous political professionals who had worked for Democratic politicians and for other progressive groups.
Let me be clear - I do not have a problem with Media Matters and who they choose to focus upon.  I ONLY have a problem with Black people, who in the process of PRETENDING that they are working in the best interests of the Black community make use of an array of progressive leftist sources in the process of "looking past the failures of the local Democrats as they make indictments against the national Republicans", none of whom are in control over any Black institutions that are failing our community.  Again - today we are starters in the "Malcolm X Political Football Game" and today some people don't even have to pretend about their true mission any longer.

The "Mall Cop" disease is described as someone that is so entrenched in their own biased position that they focus their scope upon those who they view as predisposed to steal, thus injuring financial position of the entity that they are seeking to protect that they are blind to those who are actually robbing them blind. I can even add "as well" as a qualifier.

When various Black operatives, functioning in the auspices of advancing our community's interests form a coalition with groups like Media Matters and HuffPo there is little chance that our community's interests will be compromised. The fact that the total domination of our community by this machine and the need to call out those who are failing us - will be tucked away as we continue upon our permanent chase for field position in the broader fight. As a result we will were Black operatives who have received instruction from their sponsors to return into our protected circle of community consciousness and convince the masses that our salvation is no longer found in getting "favorable people" elected to local positions - the cry that they had been using for the past 40 years. Now we need to retain the coalition with other progressive groups. After taking over the entire nation will our communities receive this promised benefits. We were sorry for the previous mistake in our scope.

Media Matters for America (or MMfA) is a progressive media watchdog group organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 2004 by journalist and author David Brock, Media Matters describes itself as "a web-based, not-for-profit, progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media." Media Matters for America defines "conservative misinformation" as "news or commentary presented in the media that is not accurate, reliable, or credible and that forwards the conservative agenda." Eric E. Burns is the president of the organization.

Since most Black people accept the given notion that "progessivism" is the best pathway for our community development since so much misery has been delivered to us by the "traditional American" positions that the conservatives seek to defend - as more political advancement is made by this cause yet our community's positions continue to stagnate - the inevitable point will come by which the Black community must put PROGRESSIVISM itself on trial and force those who advance it to prove that its worth is anything more benefiting the political machine to which it is attached to rather than developing the organic competencies that our community needs during the period where our rights are assured and the events that prove to be exceptions can receive redress by the judicial process.

I for one believe that this "court summons" for progressivism as it relates to the Black community's development cannot be left up to the inside traders (the Black Press, for example) for distribution. Only those who are conscious of our collective goals and who make note of how we are being used can call for such a hearing.
